How do you calculate TikTok engagement rate?

The usual method is (likes + comments + shares + saves) divided by views, multiplied by 100. You can also divide by followers, but because TikTok shows videos to non-followers, the view-based rate is usually more meaningful.

What is a good TikTok engagement rate?

TikTok engagement by views is typically higher than on Instagram. As a rough guide, around 3–6% is average and above 6% is good, but it varies a lot by niche and video type.

Why is my TikTok engagement low?

The most common reasons are a slow hook, videos that are longer than they need to be, or reaching people outside your niche. Check where viewers drop off in your analytics and tighten the first few seconds.
